Ashtons achieves Cyber Essentials Plus certification for 2023-24
We are delighted to announce that Ashtons has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification for 2023-24!
A huge amount of work goes into achieving this award, so it's fantastic to have been successful in securing this highly regarded certification for a fifth successive year.
What is Cyber Essentials Plus certification?
Cyber Essentials is an effective, Government backed scheme that helps organisations to protect themselves against a wide range of the most common cyber attacks.
Cyber Essentials Plus goes even further and represents the gold standard for cyber security in the UK. To achieve this, Ashtons had to display outstanding commitment to ensuring our IT network is secure against cyber attack.
What makes Cyber Essentials Plus special?
As a starting point, you are required to achieve the Cyber Essentials award. Once this is achieved, you can proceed to take the Plus certification. This must be passed within three months of the standard Cyber Essential award.
The Cyber Essentials Plus award is externally verified by an independent agency, meaning the entire Ashtons network, including our software such as e-Works and Live View, must meet the required framework to achieve the award. This confirms we are up to date with all industry best practices in cyber security, thereby reducing the opportunity for cybercriminals to enter our network.
What does this achievement mean for you?
Achieving the Plus certification confirms that Ashtons has taken its cyber security to the next level. It provides you with peace of mind that in the event of a cyber-attack, our business, our data, our staff, customers and suppliers are protected to the highest possible standards.
With the same efforts that cybercriminals try to hack into a company’s infrastructure, Ashtons has put substantial measures into place to resist attacks and protect our digital world.
Cyber Essentials Plus is a notoriously hard award to achieve, but with our methods, standing and digital history in place, we have successfully achieved the accreditation.
Maintaining a confident cyber security stance
The reason the Plus certification is so hard to achieve, is due to the criteria constantly changing. Passing the award does not mean, ‘that’s it’, it means we have to keep up and stay ahead, with more training and the implementation of an ever increasing number of security measures as they come on board.
The work to achieve Cyber Essential Plus for 2024-25 starts now!
