The new plan outlines their strategic direction over the coming three years (2023-2026)
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) published their new corporate plan in July 2023 outlining their strategic direction over the coming three years (2023-2026). This plan details how the agency will help keep patients safe by enabling access to innovative, high quality, safe and effective medical products. It outlines their refined core purpose which is to use:
scientific expertise, support for innovation and the risk-proportionate regulation of medical products, to protect and improve public health across the UK.
The four strategic priorities covered are:
- Maintain public trust through transparency and proactive communication
- Enable healthcare access to safe and effective medical products
- Deliver scientific and regulatory excellence through strategic partnerships
- Become an agency where people flourish alongside a responsive customer service culture
