SPS Clozapine use in adults with swallowing difficulties

The Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS) has published new guidance in May 2023 which outlines advice on how to use clozapine in patients with swallowing difficulties. The advice covers the importance of not missing doses and seeking the advice of the individual’s specialist mental health team. It discusses each preparation of clozapine available and how they can be used for swallowing difficulties as well as how to switch preparations.
