The Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS) has published a new resource in March 2023 which outlines considerations required before implementing Patient Group Direction (PGDs) in virtual ward services.
The advice covers defining virtual wards, national guidance, and discusses considerations including:

- legislation
- service design
- Remote consultations
- Antimicrobials
- Delegation
- Care homes
- End of life care
- Labelling of supplied medicines
- Transport of medicines
