Business Analyst (Finance and Technical) – Welcome bonus up to £500

Purpose of the role:

The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in our organisation by generating reports, visualisations, dashboards, and insights for the business team to drive growth and efficiencies. Additionally, the role will involve the creation of a single business intelligence area with visibility of data across the entire organisation. The Business Analyst will promote the use of the new department, change current reporting habits, and centralise reporting to ensure availability, efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. By utilising industry-standard tools and visualisations, the ideal candidate will improve the quality of reporting within the organisation.

This is an office-based role with the opportunity to work from home dependant on the needs of the business.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead and contribute to a wide range of projects and analysis requests.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Analyst to develop business intelligence dashboards for the senior management team.
  • Maintain programs that update pricing in our core Sage system.
  • Automate reporting needs and build a suite of analytics reporting using Power BI.
  • Develop strong data scientist capabilities and definitions by learning from the wider leadership team.
  • Continuously learn and develop new analytical and technical skills.
  • Utilize SQL to work with large, rich, and varied datasets.
  • Analyse and present large quantities of data in a succinct manner.

Desirable Skills:

Education

  • Degree level education is desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT or a related field.

Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in reporting and analytics in a business setting.
  • Experience in managing small to mid-size projects with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements for Data and Reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL and MS Excel.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the Office 365 suite, with desirable skills in Power BI.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Python.
  • Experience with Sage software is desirable.
