We are committed to acting ethically, and with integrity, in all our business dealings and relationships. We want to make sure that modern slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within our business or its supply chains.
As such Ashtons ensures that there are policies and checks in place to sets out our commitment to being a business which is free from modern slavery and human trafficking and how we will achieve this.
Ashtons operates a robust recruitment policy, including conducting eligibility to work checks for all employees to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.
This approach is set out in Ashtons Modern Slavery Policy and supplemented by other key company policies and procedures, including those covering recruitment, pre-employment screening, supplier approval and management, anti-bribery and whistleblowing.
Supply Chain
We expect all current and potential suppliers to uphold high ethical standards, operate in a lawful and professional manner, and demonstrate integrity in all aspects of their business. We also expect them to promote these same principles throughout their own supply chains. In line with our ESG governance and internal policies, all Ashtons suppliers are subject to a supplier assessment and an approval process to ensure compliance with our standards.
Due Diligence
Ashtons undertakes appropriate due diligence on its suppliers and business partners to identify, assess, and manage potential risks related to modern slavery and human trafficking. This includes conducting supplier assessments as part of our approval process and maintaining ongoing monitoring where appropriate. We expect transparency from our suppliers and reserve the right to review their practices to ensure continued alignment with our policies and values.
Training and Awareness
Ashtons recognises that awareness and education are key to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. We have clear training and guidance that are continuously reviewed and updated to help staff identify potential signs of modern slavery and understand the steps to take if concerns arise. We ensure that all staff complete modern slavery training within their first three months of employment and renew it every two years as part of our training and compliance metrics. We also promote awareness of our Modern Slavery Policy across the business to ensure that all staff understand their responsibilities and are encouraged to report any concerns through our established whistleblowing channels
