NICE NG122 Lung cancer: diagnosis and management

This NICE guideline on the diagnosis and management of lung cancer was updated in July 2023. Dealing specifically with non-small-cell and small-cell cancer, it aims to improve outcomes for patients by ensuring that the most effective tests and treatments are used, as well as making sure suitable palliative care and follow-up is accessible.

Recommendations included cover the following topics:

• Access to services and referral
• Communication
• Diagnosis and staging
• Treatment
• Palliative interventions and supportive and palliative care
• Follow-up and patient perspectives

In July 2023 the systemic anti-cancer therapy treatment pathways for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer were added to and updated.
