Updated NICE guideline NG12 – ‘Suspected cancer: recognition and referral’

This new update brings new recommendations related to colorectal cancer
This new update to NICE guideline NG12 brings new recommendations on colorectal cancer in line with NICE’s diagnostic guidance (DG56) on ‘Quantitative faecal immunochemical testing to guide colorectal cancer pathway referral in primary care’.
The core guideline was originally released in 2015 and includes recommendations covering a wide range of cancers, including:
- Lung and pleural cancers
- Upper gastrointestinal tract cancers
- Lower gastrointestinal tract cancers
- Breast cancer
- Gynaecological cancers
- Urological cancers
- Skin cancers
- Head and neck cancers
- Brain and central nervous system cancers
- Haematological cancers
- Sarcomas
- Childhood cancers
- Non-site-specific symptoms
